HYDERABAD
The Transmission Corporation of Telangana (TG-Transco) has won the LDC Excellence Award for its State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) being adjudged the best among large SLDCs in the country at the national power system conference being held at IIT, Indore.
Chairman and Managing Director of the power utility D. Krishna Bhaskar received the award at the hands of Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority Ghan Shyam Prasad and Grid India CMD (National Load Dispatch Centre) S.R. Narasimhan in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.
In a message, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who holds the portfolio of Energy, congratulated the TG-Transco for bagging the award amid competition from other States. It is due recognition of excellence in operation of the power system in maintaining the grid with grid-discipline, he said. Principal Secretary (Energy) S.K. Sultania too appreciated the concerted efforts of all power utilities of the State for maintaining the grid discipline.
The Transco officials said Telangana SLDC has bagged the “Best LDC” in the Large SLDCs category comprising Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.
Meanwhile, Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has been chosen for the Enertia Foundation award for the company’s contribution in the environment-friendly and sustainable mining as also renewable energy areas in the category of “India’s best and most sustainable coal mining operator with renewable energy adoption”. The award would be presented to the company at an event in Visakhapatnam on December 20.
