Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also met Savitri Devi and enquired about her health from the doctors.

The last time Yogi Adityanth met his mother was in 2022 when he went to his ancestral home in Pachoor in Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal. He had spent a night at his home and before leaving, touched his mother’s feet and sought her blessings.

Yogi Adityanath stayed in AIIMs for nearly three hours, during which he met those who were injured in a road accident in the state’s Rudraprayag and assured them of all possible help from his government. At least 15 tourists were killed in the accident on Saturday.

Many of the victims of the Rudraprayag accident were residents of UP’s Noida, Mathura, and Jhansi.

Displaying an unusual zeal to chase an accused man, cops drove into the emergency ward of AIIMS Rishikesh on Tuesday, a viral video shows. The police wanted to arrest a nursing officer accused of sexually harassing a woman doctor.

In the 26-second clip that could be from an action movie, the police car is seen driving through a crowded emergency ward, with rows of patients in beds on both sides. A group of security officials are seen clearing the way for the SUV, pushing stretchers carrying patients out of the way. The car zooms ahead with several police officers visible inside it.

According to the police, the nursing officer allegedly sexually harassed a woman doctor inside an operation theatre at the premier health facility. Satish Kumar, now suspended, had also allegedly sent an obscene SMS to the doctor, Rishikesh police officer Shankar Singh Bisht told news agency PTI.

The incident sparked anger among the hospital’s doctors, who went on a strike and protested outside the dean’s office demanding that the offender be sacked. The doctors also approached the police.

Seeing the large number of protesting doctors, the police decided to drive into the hospital to arrest Satish Kumar. In another video, a group of police officers can be seen surrounded by the protesting doctors as they take the accused man into the car.

Raising slogans, the doctors demanded Satish Kumar’s immediate sacking, saying that mere suspension was not enough for the offence he had committed. While emergency services are still operational at AIIMS Rishikesh, doctors have been on strike since Tuesday.
